GISA ELWAZIR

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Germany, Gisa Elwazir (née Gisa Weidemann) studied Fine Arts in Germany and Italy. In 1965 she received a degree in Painting and Printmaking from the renowned Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Germany which counts Joseph Beuys and Gerard Richter among its many notable alumni.
Gisa has traveled the world and as a result her work has been shown in Group and Solo Exhibitions in Germany, Italy, Ethiopia, Yemen, the Philippines, and the United States. In the U.S., Gisa’s work has appeared in galleries in Texas, Arizona, California, and New York. She is a member of numerous Art Societies (SWS, TVAA, VACD, ISEA and SDWS, earning SWS, TVAA, T&N and SDWS Signature Status).
Gisa now lives in Dallas where her work has been exhibited in multiple juried exhibitions, winning many prestigious awards. Before moving to Texas she taught Art at international schools in Ethiopia, Yemen, and the Philippines. She also worked as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Examiner for Visual Arts in Texas and the Philippines.
Gisa’s work has been shown in yearly Solo Exhibitions at Haley-Henman Gallery, Dallas, and in highly respected Art competitions throughout the USA. They have earned prestigious awards and can be found in private collections in Germany, Italy, Yemen, Ethiopia, the Philippines and the USA.
